On Saturday we said ‘adios’ to two of our members, as they headed to the airport to take part in the ETL Challenge.
This week, Brett Wright from EKWilliams and Dan Buttress from EKW Group have swapped their usual office in Bolton for the ETL GLOBAL España offices in Barcelona!
Whilst they are there, Brett and Daniel are experiencing how the ETL GLOBAL España team carry out their day-to-day operations, learning about their strategies and how accounting processes and regulations differ internationally.
Through the program, both Brett and Daniel will also have the opportunity to gain an insight to the work of ETL GLOBAL’s firms, internationally, as well as to the network as a whole.
It looks like they are having an amazing time so far – the weekend was spent taking in the sights and getting to know the area, ahead of a well-planned schedule with the Spanish team in the days to follow!
After their first few days in Barcelona, Brett and Dan said:
‘It’s been really good so far. Everyone has been very welcoming of us and have all taken time to go through the differences and similarities between accounts and tax in the UK compared to Spain – it’s been really interesting to learn about the complexities of Spanish accounting.
The weather has certainly been a bonus! The office is in a perfect location for the city centre, so we’ve been lucky enough to explore some of the different sights in Barcelona with the team.‘
The ETL Challenge forms part of a network-wide initiative to learn from other firms and collectively adapt our services internationally.
We also look forward to welcoming some of our Spanish colleagues to the UK, during the weeks beginning 25th September and 2nd October, when they will spend some time across our Greater Manchester-based firms!
